DuArt Expands Processing Operation

Venerable New York City film lab and post facility DuArt Film & Video has hired additional staff in order to increase customer service and expand its operation with the addition of complete around the clock laboratory services.

DuArt is now the only New York motion picture laboratory that offers fulltime processing, along with a wide range of other film, video, audio, and digital services. “24 hour processing is often preferred by those doing commercial, trailer and archival work, so we’re hoping that his move will expose us to a larger client base,” notes DuArt COO Charles Darby. “Having the additional staff also allows us to invest more and improve our customer service, which is vital to these clients.”

Apart from this expansion of its film operation, DuArt is also planning equipment acquisitions to expand its capabilities in the digital arena, to stay current with the trend towards posting film with digital intermediate process.

DuArt is the nations’ oldest continuously run motion picture laboratory. Chairman of the Board Irwin Young earned a reputation for the business through his dedication to the independent film community, an effort that earned him an Oscar in 2000. He is joined at the family business by his nephew, Andrew Young, who is himself an Emmy Award winning filmmaker.
